Luis Almonte
Coach | CF-L1
Having 10 years of CrossFit training experience have help me developed a deep knowledge of the multi-movements in Crossfit. This has help me understand how to manage individual egos for longevity and injury prevention. Injury prevention is key in teaching athletes to listen to their bodies and scale movements to prevent both short and long term injury. This will help athletes maintain a healthy and fitness for life. I primarily focus on form and technique over intensity. It is extremely important to learn mechanics and consistency before adding significant weight or speed.
Malaika Nicholas
Coach | CF-L2
Malaika Nicholas is a CrossFit Level 2 Coach with a background in soccer and a deep passion for helping athletes build confidence through movement. With two years of coaching experience, Malaika focuses on performance, technical development, and creating an environment where athletes feel supported, capable, and challenged.
She is especially passionate about coaching new members and female-identifying athletes, helping them develop strength, confidence, and trust in their bodies. Athletes often describe Malaika’s coaching style as approachable, fun, and detail-oriented — blending clear technical cues with encouragement and energy.
Malaika is recognized for her expertise in strength and weightlifting coaching, thoughtful scaling and injury modifications, and one-on-one personal training. She believes great coaching is about meeting athletes where they are while helping them safely push past perceived limits.
Outside of the gym, Malaika works full-time as a product marketer in the tech industry, is a proud foodie, and spends her free time with her fiancé and dog, D’usse. No matter the setting, her goal as a coach is simple: to help athletes leave class feeling stronger, more confident, and empowered.

Maurice is a CrossFit Level 1 coach with a diverse athletic background and a strong focus on strength, weightlifting, and skill development. With experience across multiple disciplines, he emphasizes sound mechanics, thoughtful progression, and sustainable performance to help athletes build confidence and capability through training.
His athletic background includes high school baseball, college tennis, black belt martial arts training, and time as a former amateur boxer. These experiences shape his coaching style, which prioritizes precision before intensity, efficient movement under fatigue, and respect for the process required to develop complex skills safely and effectively.
Outside of the gym, Maurice has a passion for music, music production, and cocktail craft, disciplines that mirror his coaching philosophy of mastering fundamentals before creative expression. His goal as a coach is to help athletes get stronger, develop real skills, and leave each class feeling more capable, confident, and prepared to keep progressing.
Radha Singh

Radha Singh is a NASM-certified personal trainer, a 300-hour certified yoga instructor, and a 500-hour Kundalini Yoga–certified instructor. A CrossFit athlete since 2018, CrossFit profoundly changed her life by blending the mind–body awareness of yoga with a training methodology built on functional movements, performed at varied intensities, to develop broad physical capacity. Her classes are accessible to all levels and especially supportive for CrossFit athletes, with a focus on relieving tension in the hips, shoulders, and back while helping students move with greater intention and resilience.
Ayleen Castillo
Coach | CF-L1
I’ve been doing CrossFit for over 8 years, and my athletic background began in track and field, where I competed for three years and served as team captain my senior year of high school. It was during that time that my coach introduced a group of top female athletes to CrossFit, and I instantly fell in love.
Weightlifting is what I love most about CrossFit. The progression, the grit it takes to get there, and watching the hard work finally pay off is unmatched. Seeing that progress show both physically and mentally is what keeps me passionate about coaching. That progress can be yours too.
I’m especially passionate about helping everyone, especially women, to realize just how strong they can be, and proving that strength is built, not given. My favorite CrossFit lift is the snatch, because it demands power, precision, and confidence all at once.
CrossFit is an incredible sport because it truly is for everyone, from kids just starting to senior citizens looking to stay strong and healthy. I love coaching athletes of all levels and helping them move better, lift with confidence, and believe in their potential.
Outside the gym, I love food (fuel matters!)—and sushi is my favorite 🍣.

How CrossFit Bridge & Tunnel started
I opened CrossFit Bridge & Tunnel in 2016 because I saw a gap. Ridgewood had plenty of places to work out, but nowhere serious for everyday people. Not athletes, not fitness fanatics, just people who wanted to get stronger and had no idea where to start.
I’d spent three years coaching at another affiliate, and I knew I was ready to build something of my own. Something different. A place where walking in with zero experience wasn’t just tolerated, it was the entire point.
That hasn’t changed. We’re a serious gym for people who are serious about changing their lives, even if they’ve never touched a barbell. If that sounds like you, you’re exactly who we built this for.
